Only 862 people have ever stood on the summit of K2. Darren Rogers is one of them.
A chemical engineer from Sheridan, Rogers spent more than two years training and planning before making his summit bid in July 2024.
Rogers will walk through what it actually takes to attempt one of the world's most dangerous climbs: the training, the logistics, the mental preparation, the things that go wrong at altitude, and what it's like to stand above the clouds on the second-highest point on Earth. He's also summited Everest, Aconcagua, Vinson Massif in Antarctica, Elbrus, and Kilimanjaro — so come with questions about any of it.
This presentation is part of our Pint Night series. Every Thursday, we offer complimentary beer or non-alcoholic beverages to anyone with a Sunlight pint glass. Don't have one yet? You can purchase a limited-edition glass at the event — 100% of proceeds go directly to one of our five local nonprofit partners that get kids outside.
