Sunlight Sports To Donate $15,000 To Local Non-Profits This Winter

We're thrilled to announce grants to 5 local groups that get kids outdoors. These grants are part of our pledge to give an amount that is at least 2% of our sales to local nonprofits annually. Also, these particular grants are part of a celebration of a NEW HIKING GUIDEBOOK that we have coming out in March of 2024.

We have partnered with Park County Travel Council (Cody Yellowstone) to fund that project, which allows us to fund part of this grant.

The organizations that we are donating to this fall are: Dano Youth Camp, Shoshone Back Country Horsemen, Park County Youth Cycling, Cody Archery Club - WY and Park County Nordic Ski Association.

If you would like more details, here is part of the text of the letter that we shared with those organizations this morning.

"On behalf of the team at Sunlight, we wanted to let you know that Sunlight Sports is going to donate $3000 this winter to your organization, as well as four other organizations that get kids outside in Park County.

This is one of our ways of telling you thank you for making our community a better place. Your hard work and dedication to the mission of making the outdoors accessible to our young people is truly inspiring.

As you know, the Sunlight Sports team has an ongoing commitment to give back at least 2% of our sales to local non-profit organizations every year. We are always looking for great groups to work with, and creative ways to fund that giving.

Much of this grant is being made possible through a special project that we have been working on for months. Next spring, we will be releasing a new hiking guide for northwest Wyoming. Our intent with this project is to both spread the word about the amazing recreation around us, and to use any proceeds from this project to support groups like yours.

We have had authors, editors, photographers and designers working on this project since April of this year, and the product of their labor will be available in March of 2024. As part of our mission to help our entire community and our summer visitors access the trails in our area, we have also entered into a partnership with the Park Country Travel Council that will allow PCTC use of the assets describing 30 of those hikes in perpetuity. The fee that the Travel Council is paying will be used to in part to fund these grants.

We're really excited for our launch of this new book, and the associated update to an existing book that we have been doing for a while. We will be doing a couple of events to launch these new products, and hope that you will join us as an organization for those."
