We have been helping  our friends and neighbors get ready for outdoor adventure for a long, long time.

When Sunlight Sports started outfitting customers for trips in the Absarokas, Beartooths and Yellowstone, Nixon was still happily taping conversations in the White House.  In the years since, we have kept our focus on one thing - being the best source for information and gear for your next trip.

We get to play in some of the most amazing mountain environments in the world.

Cody, Wyoming and the surrounding area is one of the most diverse and high-fun outdoor recreation spots in the US.  Just out the back door, we have huge wilderness, challenging mountains, amazing rock climbing and bouldering, wild rivers and empty trails - and that's just in the summer.  Winter brings great small-area alpine skiing and snowboarding, easily-accessible snowshoeing, nordic skiing in beautiful valleys and - just as a little bonus - South Fork ice climbing, which might be the best ice climbing in the US.


Yellowstone is right out our back door.  But there is so much more to explore, if you have the time to spend.

If you are into your way into the backcountry of the world's oldest park, we can help make your trip more remarkable with the best trip planning section in the Yellowstone area.  If you have time to get outside on this side of the park, you won't regret it - the amazing terrain here is a lot less well known than Jackson, Bozeman and other Rocky Mountain outdoor meccas.  There isn't really a local hiking guide.  The southern Absaroka Mountains might be the wildest, least-travelled area in the lower 48.  Even Yellowstone has it's share of empty spots, if you know where to look.  You probably won't see another soul on your day in the mountains around Cody.
